CHAPTER 71
Her mixed feelings got higher and she started hitting the wheels.
“He never really love me like he said, just yesterday and he’s already kssing some else, he didn’t love me for real”
“But you turned him down, remember?” Her mind m0cked.
“I’m afraid” Josephine sniffed.
“Then keep being hvrt over your happiness” Her mind said.
“He doesn’t love me” She shouted, hitting her hands on the wheel repeatedly.
Tears started falling from her eyes but she quickly wiped it away.
“I can’t cry for him” She said but she knew inwardly she was only lying to herself.
The tears came back again when she replayed the scene she saw in her head.
She started the car and drove out.
Back at the bridge stairs, Pascal’s face remained calm as Mindy brought her face closer to his, his eyes on her face.
She crossed her hands around his neck, hooking the necklace she got for him.

She stepped back, and he smiled.
“Someone who saw us might think you wanted to kss me” He said, and she bit her lips.
She smiled to cover up her hotness.
“Thank you”
“So how is the necklace on me?” He asked.
“I lack words to describe how good it’s on you, I don’t think there’s any word to describe your handsomeness” She said, and he laughed.
“Stop exaggerating please, Mindy” He said, and they laughed.
They continued laughing as they stared at each other till he returned his eyes back to the sky.
He sighed when he started seeing Josephine’s face in the sky. He sighed heavily.
“Are you alright? Don’t lie to me” She asked, and he looked at her.
“Have you ever been in love before?” He asked, and she nodded
“Countless times, I’m not like Josephine, I’m a wild cute cat” She replied, and he smiled at her sincerity.
“Have you ever kssed a guy for fun?”

“No, I kssed the guys who I have a thing for, why are you asking? Are you in love with a girl, who is she??” She replied curiously with mixed feelings.
“I just want to know, I haven’t been in any relationship before” He replied.
“What do you think about dating someone you are older than?” He asked, looking into her eyes, and her heart skipped a beat.
“There’s no age difference when it comes to love, age is just a number, fk what people thinks” She replied, and he smiled.
“All these questions are getting me confused, are you in love with an older lady? Talk to me, please?” She asked curiously.
Pascal stared speechless at her, he can’t deny his love for Josephine but she bluntly rejected him.
He opened his mouth to say something when his phone started ringing, interrupting him. NATHAN.
He answered the call and Nathan’s loud voice came into the cellphone.
“Pascal, where are you bro? I hope you are not planning to sleep outside?” Nathan asked in a scolding manner.

“Ayo, I’m still with her” Pascal said calmly.
“It’s getting late, come back home”
“Just tell me you are missing me and stop scolding me” Pascal smiled.
“Miss you? Issh, you can sleep there I don’t care” Nathan scoffed.
“Then goodnight” Pascal said.
“Don’t you try it if you don’t want to d!e, get back here now” Nathan shouted, and Pascal laughed.
“But you said you are not missing me”
“Get back here”
“Abeg shut up{Please shut up” Pascal said and hung up.
He looked at Mindy to catch her staring.
“I’m sorry, it was my friend, I think we should be going home now” He said.
“Yeah” She smiled, though she wanted to spend more time with him.
“Thank you for showing up” He said.
“You don’t need to thank me” She said and took his hand.
They started walking out of the bridge stairs. They got outside of the building, and stopped in front of her car.

“I will take you home” She said.
“No, I will use a taxi” He smiled.
“But….
“Don’t worry” He said.
Mindy came close and pecked him on the cheek before hvgging him, he slowly hvgged her back before pulling away.
He flagged a taxi and got in, he waved at her as the taxi drove away.
She kept waving till the taxi disappeared out of her sight. She held her chest tightly as she felt the loud heartbeats.
“Why him?” She asked, remembering when she almost kssed him when she was wearing the necklace on his neck.
“Gosh!” She said and entered her car.
JOSEPHINE’S APARTMENT*
Josephine couldn’t sleep since she came back from the bridge stairs.
She couldn’t erase the scene out of her head, and it kept having a big chokehold on her.
“Why am I even thinking about it? It’s better” She said to feel better.
She laid on the bed but suddenly she started imagining herself with Pascal.
